The vision of Bill Gates seems to never cease. Well, if this project works out, Microsoft will likely reign in putting robotics into public (consumers!) hands, just like it did with the the IBM PC architecture.
The weird thing as you can see from this article is that the old Bill Gates school of proprietary software seems to be shaken with the open-source school in the fact that they are putting the software written so far for the public for their own use and development!
Also please notice how Windows CE was mentioned.
So, will we see convergnce between the two schools in the near future?
The sure thing here is that robotics will soon enter mainstream manufacture, and Microsoft knows that. They also really want to and think they know how to take over this new industry!
